Topsoil Visits Vicario Micro-Distillery and Farm

As we prepare for our monthly plant based supper club, the team at Topsoil Restaurant took a visit to Vicario Micro-Distillery and Farm in Greer, SC (and Italy).  We learned about the many herbs and plants they grow on their farm that they use in their products.  Some we were not familiar with.  We toured the distillery and then got to taste the amazing liqueurs, spirits, wine and olive oil they create.

Visit Vicario

Vicario is owned by Renato Vicario and Janette Wesley.  Both Renato and Jantte have been very involved with Slow Food.  Janette served as chapter leader of the SC Upstate group from 2010-2019, and also a portion of that, from 2015-2019, and worked as the Slow Food USA regional governor for the southeastern region. Their chapter did many cooking classes, (led by Renato), educational dinners with local chefs, farm tours, children's taste education, etc.  They also began the first internationally recognized Slow Food Earth Market in the USA in Greenville.
